Details Work in the Tele Intermediate stepdown unit of a Level 2 trauma acute care hospital with 26 beds Patient population includes CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope cases Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 Nurse aide/tech support at a 1:9 ratio Charge nurse takes patients Uses EPIC EMR Central tele monitoring with medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitro No vents; BiPAP, CPAP, and HF/Vapotherm equipment used Hospitalist coverage 7a-5p, followed by APN in-house with e-hospitalist coverage 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available; nursing does not mix medications 12-hour night shifts scheduled 7p-7:30a No block scheduling, but facility will try to accommodate consecutive night shifts Weekend requirement of every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) No on-call requirements Floating expected, maintaining the same 1:5 ratio on assigned unit Floor-specific orientation includes 1 hospital orientation shift and 2 unit orientation shifts (one day, one night) Requirements Active IL RN license required BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required BSN not required EPIC EMR experience preferred Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels Additional Information Provide direct patient care in a tele/stepdown intermediate care setting No specific scrub color required; may wear own scrubs (not provided by hospital) Holiday coverage required for every other holiday Local rate available for clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility No radius rule restricting eligibility COVID vaccination not required First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-743702.
