Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of RN experience required; 1 year in specialty experience preferred. License: Current RN License required Certifications: BLS (must be AHA), acute care rehabilitation preferred Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Floating within scope may be required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in rehabilitation on the night shift. The nurse will work three 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. The unit consists of 24 beds; patient diagnoses include cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputations, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases. Each patient has a dedicated care team that includes a physician, nurse practitioner, nurse, two therapists, and a social worker. The care team collaborates to create individualized plans for patients. Therapy is provided for three hours each day, Monday through Friday, with an average length of stay of about two weeks. The nurse will provide care for patients with various diagnoses, including spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations, neuromuscular diseases, and severe deconditioning related to cardiac or respiratory events. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5 or 1:6 during night shifts. Candidates must be open to accommodating block schedule requests. The role may require floating to meet facility needs.
