Automotive Technician

Automotive TechnicianThe Automotive Technician will be responsible for following written and verbal test and inspection instructions, adjusting valves manually or via computer on controlled parameters, and preparing, extracting, and labeling specimens per test procedures. This role involves performing routine engine stand maintenance, engine tune-ups, fluid changes, and removal/replacement of transmissions, cylinders, heads, tires, fuel tanks, and injectors. The technician will use diagnostic tools (scanners/voltmeters) via computer to troubleshoot engine and stand performance issues, as well as perform fabrication and plumbing duties. Maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to all safety standards and regulations are essential.Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredKnowledge of basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentagesAbility to recognize automotive engines, fluids, and accessories, and understand their basic functionsProficiency in computer use for data entry and test diagnosticsAbility to use and interpret engine manuals, test procedures, and schematicsCapability to identify poor engine/stand performance and seek necessary assistanceAbility to lift 50 pounds with assistanceMust adhere to all safety requirements and practicesAbility to work in a potentially hazardous environment with high noise levels, heat, and fumesAbility to perform mechanical tasks and functions as instructedWork independently with limited supervision while communicating effectively with team membersMust be able to use hand tools and power toolsMinimum of 2 years' experience requiredAdditional RequirementsSteel-toe safety shoes requiredMust be able to pass MVR driver's license checkPosition is considered safety-sensitiveMust be a U.S. citizen or permanent residentWork Schedule & Special InstructionsEight-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend workMust be available to work different shifts as required by this 24/7 projectMust be able to monitor several tests concurrentlyMay be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as neededMust wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes when requiredAt Cross Resource Group, we value our employees and are dedicated to providing a rewarding and inclusive work environment.
