Product Manager 2 Job Description
This position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary. Essential Functions An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and costeffectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
Product Development Roadmap: Develops and manages the implementation of the product development roadmap for a moderately-to-highly complex category based on knowledge of category strategy and input from category managers and team members in related functions (site merchandising, planning, marketing, etc.). Plans and coordinates technology developments (e.g., site functionality enhancements, product/pricing tools and dashboards) and ensures technology forecasts are integrated into roadmap based on knowledge of short- and longer term needs of a moderately-to-highly complex category. Reviews and updates roadmap as business needs change to maintain alignment to overall category strategy. Product Development Lifecycle: Manages and executes product development lifecycle (from concept to phasing-out technology products or features) across multiple sites within a moderately-to-highly complex category, ensuring achievement of product development objectives and identifying and prioritizing tradeoffs across product development initiatives. Reviews product development lifecycle/process across multiple websites for a moderately-to-highly complex category and develops contingency plans to manage risk or address identified challenges. Research and Analysis: Manages and reviews product research and analysis performed by Associate Product Managers for a moderately-to-highly complex category. Leverages research/analytical outcomes and knowledge of the category and external market (research and sales) to suggest enhancements to product development strategy or implement changes to the lifecycle process. Reviews market analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify evolving trends in product development. Collaboration: Collaborates with cross-functional teams (category management, site merchandising, marketing, engineering) and external supplier teams to gather input on product requirements and execute the product development roadmap for a moderately-to-highly complex category. Partners with suppliers to develop product and end-user requirements. People Development: Builds and leads a team to execute on business area or category objectives. Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance. Has performance and career development conversations. Maintains team motivation and engagement. Mentors Associate Product Managers.

Physical Activities The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. Observes associate, customer, or supplier behavior. Enters and locates information on computer. Presents information to small or large groups and individuals. Communicates effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment. Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Reads information, often in small print. Travel Traveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring an overnight stay.
Entry Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and 2 years' experience in product management or related field OR 4 years' experience in product management or related field. 2 years' experience leading cross-functional project teams. Preferred Qualifications 3 years' experience in merchandising, marketing, ecommerce, operations, logistics, supply chain, or related field. 3 years' experience in product development. Six Sigma certification.
