Customer Service Specialist

Job Overview The customer service representative (CSR) provides administrative support and assistance to integrated behavioral health, medical, and dental clinics at the Federally Qualified Health Center of South-Central Texas and works in collaboration with clerical support staff. Responsibilities Provide clerical support and assistance with special projects such as receptionist duties, data entry, running electronic health record reports, copying and collation materials, typing, mailing correspondence, maintaining office equipment and vehicles, preparing preassembled staffing packets, ordering supplies, filing clinical records, and processing purchase requisitions. Assist patients by scheduling appointments, offering quality customer service, performing initial and annual financial reviews/addenda, updating demographic information in the electronic chart, and scanning documents into the chart. Gather necessary documentation, verify insurance for scheduled clinic appointments, determine and note expected patient responsibility, and obtain authorization from insurance companies. Respond to account concerns, follow up on past due balances, and develop payment agreements per center policy. Coordinate scheduling with Benefits Specialists and support a team of business support staff to ensure an efficient work environment. Location & Compensation Round Rock, TX Hourly Salary Range: $17.30 – $21.55 Differential Details $0.75/hour – Bilingual $0.50/hour – Williamson County $1.00/hour – 2year tenure with BTCS $1.00/hour – Career ladder specialty $1.00/hour – 2 previous experience in a similar role Benefits Excellent benefits package and generous leave accruals. Qualifications & Experience Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Experience working with persons with disabilities. Strong computer and communication skills. Experience in a medical office setting. Demonstrated regular and timely attendance. Valid Texas driver’s license with approved driver’s status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications Some college (1-2 years) or associate’s degree. Experience having financial discussions with clients regarding treatment costs. Bilingual.
