Payroll Specialist - Workday
\n \nWhat You'll Do
\n- \n
- Run bi-monthly multi-state payroll (15th and 30th) across 13 states and jurisdictions \n
- Own the payroll audit process — build and run pre- and post-payroll audits to catch errors before they reach employees \n
- Handle payroll corrections, off-cycle payments, and year-end W-2 prep and audit \n
- Partner with the managed payroll vendor on multi-state tax filings, state compliance, and monthly/quarterly tax reconciliation \n
- Own benefits reconciliation — 401(k), HSA, and FSA rules and limits, deduction timing for new hires and terms, and reconciling carrier invoices against payroll \n
- Work with the Workday Administrator to automate and streamline payroll processes and reporting in Workday \n
What We're Looking For
\n- \n
- 3+ years of hands-on multi-state payroll processing \n
- Experience in complex payroll states — CO, CA, WA, NY, and/or NM strongly preferred \n
- Strong understanding of how benefit rules and deductions impact payroll \n
- Payroll corrections and W-2 prep/audit experience \n
- Advanced Excel skills for auditing and reconciliation \n
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy — the most important trait for this role \n
- Ability to work core Mountain Time hours \n

- Workday Payroll experience as an administrator or configurator, not just an end user \n
- Workday Pro Certification (Payroll track) \n
- Hands-on state tax filing experience, PEO migration experience, or an accounting background \n
