York County Community Action Corporation is seeking a Mental Health Consultant to join our Head Start/Early Head Start Leadership Team.

Mental Health & Special Education Services

  • Coordinate mental health and disabilities services across Head Start and Early Head Start.
  • Observe classrooms and provide constructive feedback to support positive classroom management, teaching practices, and social-emotional development.

Staff Consultation, Training & Leadership

  • Provide consultation and support to Head Start/Early Head Start staff and families.
  • Develop and facilitate staff training and in-service workshops related to special education, mental health, and social-emotional development.
  • Supervise the Special Education Teacher, including regular supervision, professional feedback, annual performance appraisal, and professional development planning.

Monitoring, Data & Compliance

  • Ensure services comply with Head Start Program Performance Standards, applicable federal, state, and local requirements, licensing standards, and YCCAC policies.
  • Ensure IEP/IFSP documentation is current and appropriately maintained in ChildPlus.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work .
  • Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential that can be maintained throughout employment.
  • At least three years of management experience . Experience working as a Licensed Social Worker.

Additional Requirements

  • Must successfully pass required background checks, conducted upon hire and at least every five years.
  • Must pass the required physical examination.
  • Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.
