Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) Experience: 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Patient assessment, patient and family centered care, evidence based practice, clinical interventions, patient and family education Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The RN focuses on safe, effective patient and family centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of an established model of care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences to deliver quality care and mentor or precept staff. The RN performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. The RN collaborates with patient and family and interdisciplinary services, utilizing resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. The RN monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs, as appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge. The RN delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. The RN functions as a mentor and preceptor, encourages teamwork, and identifies opportunities for improvement. The RN participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. The RN complies with regulatory standards and participates in the governance model.
