Jr Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst Houston, TX (onsite) We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support financial operations, reporting, and analysis within a fast-paced accounting environment. This role is responsible for preparing and reconciling monthly payments and accruals, analyzing large data sets, supporting month‑end close activities, and helping drive process improvements. Key Responsibilities Prepare and reconcile monthly payments, invoices, and accruals to ensure financial accuracy. Analyze large data sets to support reporting, forecasting, and financial decision‑making. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Research and explain variances between actuals, budgets, and forecasts. Develop financial reports, dashboards, and operational analyses for business stakeholders. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and operational efficiencies. Review and analyze audit requests and assist with issue resolution. Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related analytical role. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently. Experience working with large data sets and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Oracle, Essbase, SQL, Teradata, or similar database/reporting tools preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional Information Contract opportunity. Must be local to Houston, Texas. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.
