Speech Language Pathologist - SLP
Empower Lifelong Communication in the Scenic Pacific Northwest Become a Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where each day offers a chance to empower voices, foster connections, and inspire confidence. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the picturesque city of Tacoma, your role transcends traditional therapy; it is a journey of unlocking potential, from the smallest toddlers finding their voice to seniors who are relearning the nuances of communication and self-sufficiency.
This position provides a truly rewarding opportunity to affect various age groups in a setting that beautifully marries outpatient therapy with sporadic inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic disorders or geriatric cognitive rehabilitation, a fulfilling and flexible environment awaits you.
Conduct assessments and evaluations for a diverse patient demographic including pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients, employing both standardized techniques and observational methods.
Craft customized treatment plans tailored to meet patients' immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
Deliver individual speech therapy sessions concentrating on language, fluency, voice treatment, and swallowing interventions.
Engage in a collaborative partnership with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to establish comprehensive care regimens.
Provide educational materials and resources to patients and families, bolstering progress outside the clinical setting.
Participate in sporadic inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions to guarantee continuity of care throughout patients' healing journeys.
Produce precise and timely clinical documentation adhering to state, federal, and organizational standards.
Remain updated on industry advancements through continual education and collaborative learning experiences.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Strong knowledge and experience implementing evidence-based treatment strategies for all age groups, coupled with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills enabling meaningful interactions with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Adept at customizing therapy approaches to cater to varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Exemplary clinical judgment and adept problem-solving capabilities.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation requirements.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Flexible schedules designed to support work-life integration with diverse caseloads.
Opportunities to specialize in pediatric, adult, or geriatric speech therapy.
Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday remuneration.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
Support for continuing education and professional growth.
A collaborative work environment dedicated to delivering quality care and nurturing lifelong learning.
A Career That Connects Both Professionally and Personally
In this empowering role, you will not merely provide essential speech therapy services; you will become part of a community-focused mission to rejuvenate voices, foster understanding, and produce joyful moments through the art of communication.
Amidst a team that views one another as family, you will thrive in a cooperative atmosphere that celebrates collaboration over competition. Each patient's journey is unique, and together, we will craft compelling narratives for their road to recovery.

You could be a pediatric expert keen on transitioning into adult services or a neuro-specialist eager to bridge the gap and focus on early intervention.
Whatever your area of expertise, if you are passionate about serving others with empathy and bringing forth confidence through your skills, our community is ready for you.
Let's Shape the Future of Communication Together
If you view speech not just as sounds but as connecting threads, and therapy as building bridges instead of merely performing tasks if you understand the power of trust alongside treatment, you may have found your next career chapter here.
Join us as we create an environment that cherishes communication, connection, and the courage to begin anew. Apply today to lend your voice to our team and guide others in their journey to find theirs.
