Overview Hearing Instrument Specialist (Licensed) Employment Type: Part-Time Temporary. Position Summary The Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist will provide patient-centered hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and follow-up care in alignment with hospital standards and state licensure requirements. The role works closely with audiologists and other clinical teams to deliver coordinated care for outpatient populations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive hearing aid assessments and hearing aid fittings. Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, device use, and communication strategies. Collaborate with audiologists, otolaryngologists, and primary care providers to ensure integrated care. Manage follow-up appointments, adjustments, and repair coordination. Document services accurately within the hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR). Maintain compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulations governing hearing aid dispensing. Qualifications Active Hearing Instrument Specialist license (Massachusetts) required. Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare or audiology setting preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a multicultural patient base and varied payor mix. Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical documentation skills. Strong ethical standards and commitment to patient advocacy.
