Welder Position

A welder is responsible for joining metal parts using welding techniques and equipment, fabricating and maintaining structures, and ensuring adherence to specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and execute blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to fabricate products.
• Weld components using methods such as MIG, TIG, SMAW, or flux-cored arc welding.
• Operate welding equipment and related tools.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, ensuring safe operations.
• Assess welded joints for precision and adherence to specifications.
• Identify and repair weld defects using grinding and cutting tools.
• Adhere to all workplace safety standards and protocols.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe working environment.
• Identify areas for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Participate in training and certifications to stay updated with industry practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Training or certification in welding techniques (e.g., AWS certification).
• Familiarity with fabrication tools and machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
• Proficient understanding of metallurgy and materials science.

Preferred Skills:

• Problem-solving skills to address fabrication or structural issues.
• Strong understanding of industry safety standards.

Requirements: High School Diploma/GED, 3+ years of experience with fabrication and welding, aluminum ability to obtain Secret security clearance, US citizenship required.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $23.30 - $29.90. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Travel required: none.
