Location: Westfield Valley Fair - Santa Clara, CA

Position: Seasonal Traffic Control

Pay Rate: $21.00/HR

Hours Available: Part-time hours available, 24-36 hours

Friday-Sunday 12:30pm-9pm, 1:30pm-10pm, After Holiday surge begins 12/1/26 Hours will increase to Monday-Thursday availability, shifts 11am-730pm, 2:30pm-11pm

Requirements: Applicants must have a flexible schedule. The position will require you to stand for long periods of time and work outdoors. Must be prepared for various weather conditions and must be comfortable directing traffic.

The Spirit of the Position:

A Traffic Controller are customers’ first point of contact on property. The Traffic Controller must have a friendly demeanor and provide appropriate solutions with compassion for difficulties at the entry/exit columns or pay on foot stations. Creating rapport with patrons and employees with impressionable service standards. Answering general inquiries, and if needed, noting messages to be relayed to Management. Assisting Parking Supervisors with parking equipment when requested. Multitasking and spatial awareness in high traffic volume areas. Ability to lift 15lb equipment and position for traffic diversion. Ability to follow all Safety & Traffic Control regulations.

Principal Job Duties:

• Ability to walk, jog, and stand for most of your shift.

• Can withstand the elements of heat, rain, wind, hail.

• Providing positive impressionable service to all patrons.

• Assist customers at entries and exits of assigned garages.

• Knowledgeable of garage directions and how to find lost vehicles based on customer description

• Signature verification for signing out equipment.

• Hourly lane clearing of small debris.

• Daily cleaning of SKIDATA and traffic equipment.

• Adheres to rules of conduct, policies, and procedures.

• Communicating information of patrons and employees to CSA as needed.

• Notifying Technicians via radio communication of SKIDATA equipment errors such as ticket jams or gate malfunctions.

• Communicates with office staff via radio to stay updated with garage flow.

• Taking messages for Supervisors/Management by documenting information precisely of guest concerns.

• Monthly Safety Training from the company.

• Special assignments when requested by Parking Supervisors/Management

Physical Demands:

• Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
• Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
• Ability to utilize two hands to hold flag and sign while directing traffic.
