Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining garage doors and related hardware with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that each installation meets safety standards and customer expectations, contributing to a seamless experience for homeowners and commercial clients alike. Responsibilities
- Install new garage doors, including hanging doors, attaching hardware, and ensuring proper alignment using hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise installations
- Perform maintenance, adjustments, and repairs on existing garage doors and openers to ensure optimal operation
- Conduct heavy lifting of door components, frames, and hardware safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Use welding skills when necessary for custom fabrication or reinforcement of door components
- Apply caulking, trim carpentry, and metal stud framing techniques during installation processes
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience with garage door installation or related construction work
- Strong mechanical knowledge of garage door systems, including springs, cables, rollers, and openers
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, as well as power tools like saws and grinders
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Experience reading blueprints or schematics related to construction or mechanical systems
- Knowledge of welding techniques for fabrication or reinforcement purposes
- Construction site experience with familiarity in framing, remodeling, electrical work (preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety standards and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; ability to travel between job sites as needed
