DSD Field Sales Representative - San Diego, CA / West Los Angeles, CA The DSD Field Sales Representative owns and delivers sales for their overall territory by developing relationships with Store Managers and other retail personnel to achieve directed short- and long-term performance objectives. Activities center on coverage of Nestlé items, including systemic problem solving related to out-of-stocks, new item speed to shelf, share of shelf, price compliance, and promotion selling. There are two open positions: one covering a West Los Angeles, CA territory and the other covering a San Diego, CA territory. Candidates must live within 50 miles of San Diego, CA and ideally in West Los Angeles, CA to be considered. Responsibilities Partner with distributor, collaborating and ensuring product knowledge by in-person and phone communication. Sell incremental volume for display and obtain maximum support for promoted products. Sell promotional surveys for displays. Sell additional products based on opportunities observed. Collaborate with targeted store-level/district-level retail operations personnel to create and execute business reviews that drive volume. Lead expenditure of financial resources in a fiscally responsible manner. Ensure compliance with pricing guidelines at retail level. Report competitive price changes and promotional support, and resolve competitive pricing issues. Identify and correct voids and ensure new items are available. Merchandise products to obtain schematic compliance, pack out shelves, rotate products, handle unsellable product and resolve systemic problems related to out-of-stocks and voids. Develop and maintain proper relations with department/store level personnel within territory to maximize sales results. Communicate market insights from the retail level to management. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of retail sales, merchandising, or retail management experience of CPG products preferred, not required. Must possess a valid Driver’s License in good standing. Must have excellent customer service and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail. Must possess strong communication (oral and written), selling and analytical skills. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other POS systems. Ability to analyze financial, inventory, retail conditions and/or other data to utilize appropriate selling techniques. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines. Must be willing and able to travel within the territory and may require overnight travel to meet customer and operational needs. Compensation & Benefits The approximate pay range for this position is $65K - $80K base plus annual bonus.
