Our client, a rapidly growing company closer to Mesa, AZ, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead their accounting team on an interim basis while the permanent long-term position is sourced for. This is a pivotal role for an ambitious financial leader who will drive operational efficiency, enhance processes and technology, and serve as the right hand to the CFO during a period of expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Lead the month-end close, consolidations, and financial statement preparation
- Implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and GASB standards
- Manage audit processes and external relationships with auditors and financial institutions
- Partner cross-functionally with leadership to support strategic decision-making
Qualifications:
- BA in Accounting and CPA required
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Mix of public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm), private industry and government accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience working in a PE/VC backed company.
