Thompson First Group is seeking an Electrical Technician for a contract to hire position with a local client in Millington, MD .

Candidates with hands on experience and have worked with routing conduit, electrical testing and interpreting wiring diagrams are encouraged to apply.

 

What You Will Experience in This Position

• Assemble, install, and test electrical and electronic systems, equipment, and components.
• Install and route conduit, wireways, and cable trays in accordance with NEC code, blueprints, and customer specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
• Perform electrical connections, troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs to ensure systems meet specifications.
• Inspect completed work to verify quality and readiness for testing or final inspection.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures, participate in safety meetings, and promote a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members to plan and complete work efficiently.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to less experienced electricians, depending on experience level.

Qualifications

• Basic to advanced knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical measuring devices.
• Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safe electrical practices, based on experience level.
• Experience in electrical assembly, installation, or industrial/commercial electrical work.
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and productivity.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team while following established procedures.
• Dependable attendance and strong communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license required for advanced-level positions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Shift:

• 1st Shift: 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday
