We hold ourselves to an uncompromising standard — in our parts, our processes, and our people. POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will manage the procurement of raw materials, hardware, services, and shop floor supplies that keep our precision manufacturing operation running. You'll bring strong negotiation skills, sharp organizational instincts, and a proactive mindset to ensure the right materials are available at the right time, every time. RESPONSIBILITIES Source and purchase raw materials, hardware, services, and shop floor supplies in support of defense manufacturing operations Develop and implement effective negotiation strategies with key suppliers to achieve cost efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery Manage and nurture supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with contract terms and company standards Review incoming materials upon arrival to verify quality and accuracy Monitor stock levels, perform pre-purchase stock checks, and track expiration dates to ensure continuous material availability Screen and qualify vendors for required processes, maintaining accurate approved and disapproved vendor records Generate purchase orders directly from internal jobs, ensuring all verbiage aligns with job-specific requirements Maintain thorough and organized documentation for cost analysis and vendor approvals Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to align procurement with operational needs Support special projects and other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent; 4+ years of related experience preferred Working knowledge of manufacturing, procurement, quality basics, and engineering workflows Proficiency in Excel for production scheduling; experience with MRP systems required Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practical application Strong ability to track, report, and communicate purchasing status Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills WHY JOIN TRIO NOW Our move to a 130,000 sq ft facility in Carson is more than a relocation, it's a statement about where Trio is headed.
