Job Description
Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
English/Spanish Required
Primary Location: Oakwood, GA
Possible Travel: Lawrenceville, Cumming, or Conyers, GA
Are you the person who notices what needs to be done before someone has to ask?
NexGen Medical Centers is looking for a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Certified Medical Assistant who is confident, outgoing, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership in a busy clinical environment.
We're looking for more than someone who can complete the standard MA responsibilities. We want someone who can think ahead, solve problems, communicate clearly, keep things moving, and be a dependable resource within the clinic.
The right person doesn't wait around for direction when something needs attention. They notice it, communicate it, and help find a solution.
Why NexGen?NexGen Medical Centers is a rapidly growing private practice specializing in interventional pain management and musculoskeletal injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, and slip-and-fall accidents.
We're building something special—and we're looking for people who want to grow with us. You'll have the opportunity to expand your clinical skills, take on additional responsibility, and make a meaningful impact on both our patients and the day-to-day success of the clinic.
When you join NexGen, you're joining a team that values initiative, accountability, communication, teamwork, continuous improvement, and outstanding patient care.
We offer:
- Competitive salary
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Paid holidays
- Career growth and advancement opportunities
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Supportive, team-oriented culture
- Modern, fast-paced clinical environment
You'll be successful here if you:
- Are fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Are naturally outgoing and comfortable communicating with patients, providers, and teammates.
- Take initiative instead of waiting for someone to tell you the next step.
- Notice problems and immediately start thinking about solutions.
- Think ahead and anticipate what the provider, patient, or clinic may need next.
- Stay aware of what's happening throughout the clinic—not just the task directly in front of you.
- Communicate proactively when schedules change, patients are running late, supplies are low, or something may impact clinic flow.
- Can prioritize independently when several things need attention at once.
- Take ownership of a problem and follow it through to resolution.
- Are comfortable stepping in and helping teammates when you see they need support.
- Stay calm, professional, and solution-focused when the day doesn't go according to plan.
- Accept feedback well and apply it quickly.
- Take pride in leaving the clinic more organized and prepared than you found it.
- Want opportunities to grow and take on more responsibility over time.
The Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant plays an essential role in both patient care and the overall flow of the clinic .
In addition to supporting providers throughout patient visits, this position requires someone who can maintain awareness of the daily schedule, anticipate clinical needs, identify potential issues, communicate proactively, and help keep the clinic running efficiently.
You'll prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assist with interventional pain management treatments, maintain accurate documentation, coordinate referrals, monitor clinical supplies, and help ensure providers and patients have what they need throughout the day.
This role also requires clear and professional communication with patients in both English and Spanish, including patient education, instructions, forms, and communication throughout the visit.
The primary work location for this position is our Oakwood clinic . Based on staffing and operational needs, occasional travel to our Lawrenceville, Cumming, or Conyers clinics may be required.
This is not a role for someone who needs constant direction or prefers a slow-paced clinic.
Our days move quickly. Schedules change. Patients run late. Providers need support. Unexpected situations happen.
We need someone who can recognize what needs attention, communicate early, adjust priorities, and help find a solution without losing focus on the patient experience.
Patient Care
- Welcome and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients in both English and Spanish.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, medications, and allergies.
- Assist physicians and providers during examinations and procedures.
- Provide patient education and review discharge instructions in the patient's preferred language.
- Help ensure Spanish-speaking patients clearly understand their care, instructions, and next steps.
- Deliver every patient interaction with professionalism, confidence, compassion, and respect.
Clinical Support & Clinic Flow
- Prepare and maintain exam and procedure rooms.
- Assist with interventional pain procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards.
- Clean and reset rooms quickly and thoroughly between patients.
- Stay aware of the daily schedule and help anticipate upcoming clinical needs.
- Communicate proactively with providers and team members regarding patient delays, schedule changes, clinical needs, or potential workflow issues.
- Recognize bottlenecks or problems affecting clinic flow and help identify solutions.
- Help teammates when additional support is needed without waiting to be asked.
- Maintain clinical equipment and supplies.
- Help ensure the clinic is prepared for the next patient, the next procedure, and the next clinic day.
Documentation & Coordination
- Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure required questionnaires, consents, and documentation are complete.
- Assist English- and Spanish-speaking patients with forms and clinical instructions when needed.
- Coordinate imaging, therapy, specialist, and diagnostic referrals.
- Communicate professionally with patients, pharmacies, imaging centers, attorneys, and other healthcare partners.
- Follow tasks through to completion rather than assuming someone else will handle the next step.
Compliance & Operations
- Monitor inventory and medication expiration dates.
- Identify low supplies before they become an urgent issue.
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and company policies.
- Help keep the clinic organized, efficient, and patient-focused.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and communicate potential solutions.
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through consistently.
- Be willing to step outside of routine responsibilities when necessary to support the clinic and patient experience.
Required
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Ability and willingness to travel to Riverdale, Marietta, or Conyers as needed.
Preferred
- Experience in personal injury, orthopedic, spine, neurology, or pain management.
- Experience assisting with interventional procedures.
- Phlebotomy and injection experience.
- Experience working in a high-volume or fast-paced medical practice.
- Previous experience taking ownership of clinic operations, training others, or serving as a go-to resource for teammates is a plus.
Technical skills matter, but how you work matters just as much.
We're looking for someone who demonstrates:
- Initiative — You see what needs to happen and take action.
- Problem-solving — You bring potential solutions, not just problems.
- Ownership — If you take responsibility for something, you see it through.
- Situational awareness — You pay attention to the entire clinic and recognize when something needs attention.
- Communication — You keep providers and teammates informed before small issues become bigger ones.
- Confidence — You're comfortable speaking up, asking questions, and communicating professionally.
- Reliability — Your team can count on you.
- Adaptability — You can change direction when clinic priorities shift.
- Teamwork — You step in when someone needs help.
- Accountability — You own mistakes, learn from them, and improve.
- Growth mindset — You want to learn, develop, and take on greater responsibility.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who leaves the clinic better than they found it.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and assisting patients.
- Manual dexterity required for clinical procedures.
- Full-time
- Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Primary location: Oakwood, GA
- Occasional travel to Lawrenceville, Cumming, or Conyers may be required based on clinic needs.
If you're looking for a position where you simply complete your assigned tasks and wait for the next instruction, NexGen probably isn't the right fit.
But if you're the person who notices what needs to be done, speaks up, solves problems, helps the people around you, and takes pride in keeping a clinic running smoothly , we want to meet you.
We're looking for someone who wants to become a trusted part of the clinic—not just fill an MA position.
Bring your energy. Bring your confidence. Bring your solutions. Bring your owner mindset. And if you're ready to grow, we'll give you opportunities to do it.
