Benchmarking Intern

Role Overview Atelier Ten San Francisco is looking for a summer intern focused on benchmarking. The intern will work within a project team to optimize design options for relevant benchmarking systems, administer LEED, ILFI, SITES, Fitwel, and/or WELL programs, analyze feasibility of specific credits, and support documentation during design and construction. Responsibilities Assist with project deliverables such as reports, memos, and technical reports. Create graphic illustrations drawing from various technical practices. Collaborate with design and contractor teams to support all aspects of sustainability certifications. Work on multiple project types, ranging from institutional to commercial to residential buildings and large‑scale master plans. Identify opportunities and make recommendations on daylighting, energy systems, water use, thermal comfort, occupant health, sustainable materials, and more. Qualifications Completed or pursuing a bachelor’s or higher degree in environmental building design, architecture, architectural engineering, or building science. Experience with LEED certification. Other sustainability certification systems are desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign), and Rhino. Demonstrated computer and hand drafting skills; sketching proficiency. Strong written and spoken English, verbal, interpersonal, and writing skills. Desirable software skills: R, Grasshopper, Radiance, Revit, eQuest, EnergyPlus, IES, D3, or data visualization. Compensation & Benefits Good faith estimate for base compensation is $22 per hour.
