Externship Overview Patient history taking and physical exams Diagnostic workups and development of treatment plans Observing, assisting, or performing surgical procedures (based on experience) Dental cleanings and oral health assessments In-house lab work and imaging Medical management of cases Client communication and teamwork with staff This externship is ideal for students who want to sharpen both clinical and communication skills in a well-rounded, general practice setting that emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, and case ownership.
