Locums - Miami, Florida - Cardiac Anesthesiologist

Availability / Schedule

Assignment Length: 6 months with potential extension
Reason for Coverage: Provider resignation
Schedule: Monday-Friday with weekend rotation
Shift Options: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
Current Shift Lengths: 10- and 12-hour shifts
Call: Required
Weekend Coverage: Required

Availability Requirements

Full-time availability strongly preferred
Part-time candidates considered with a minimum of 8 shifts per month
Full-time providers expected to work a minimum of 6 shifts per month , with opportunity for additional shifts
Site preference is for consistent week-over-week coverage

Operating Rooms: 12
Average Monthly Case Volume: 850-950
EMR: Medaxion
Care Team Model: Utilized throughout the program
Orientation: Provided prior to first shift

Cardiac Cases Include

CABG
Valve procedures
TAVR
MitraClip
Left atrial appendage ligation
Electrophysiology procedures

Additional Case Mix

General Surgery
Orthopedics
OB/GYN
Urology
GI
Cath Lab
Endoscopy
ENT
Spine

Notable Practice Details

Very limited aortic surgery
No cardiac transplant cases
Minimal thoracic surgery volume

Case Distribution

Majority of cases are Orthopedic, General Surgery, and OB/GYN
Cardiac anesthesia coverage required as part of the practice
Approximately 275 OB deliveries per month

Practice Model

60-70% personally performed cases
30-40% supervision/medical direction responsibilities
Collaborative care team environment

Candidate Profile

Cardiac Anesthesiologist comfortable with CABG, valve procedures, TAVR, MitraClip, LAA ligation, and EP cases
Interested in a long-term assignment with the potential for extension
Able to participate in call and weekend rotations
Available for consistent recurring coverage, with full-time candidates preferred for consideration
