Registered Respiratory Therapist

Role Overview: Responsible for providing respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to patients across all ages, from neonatal to geriatric. Coordinates respiratory care programs, sets up positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy, educates patients on equipment use, monitors compliance, and follows up with patients and physicians as needed. Qualifications & Skills Associate’s degree from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program; Bachelor's preferred. Current state license and NBRC certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. BLS certification through the American Heart Association. Proficiency in computer skills, effective communication, and knowledge of respiratory equipment. Reliable transportation for patient home visits; ability to be on-call. Key Responsibilities Set up and monitor respiratory and PAP therapy equipment. Document patient information and educate patients and staff on procedures and treatment plans. Participate in process improvement initiatives and resolve patient issues. Collaborate with physicians, monitor therapy compliance, and adapt approaches to patient needs. Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, standards, and organizational policies. Additional Information: Performs duties in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials. Physical demands include medium work involving lifting and standing.
