Hillsborough, NC (with opportunities nationwide) Part-time, season-long position with flexible scheduling $15/hour + overtime eligibility

Position Summary

Sports Promotions Group (SPG) is seeking Event Sales Associates to support onsite retail sales and grassroots marketing at national soccer and lacrosse events throughout the fall and spring seasons. Associates help operate temporary retail stores, engage with customers, and support major brand partners during a variety of sporting events. This is a flexible, season-long opportunity designed to work around a student's school schedule. Associates can work individual events or multiple events throughout the season based on their availability. There are no required minimum hours or events, making this a great opportunity for students who want to gain hands-on experience in the sports industry while maintaining flexibility around classes and other commitments. This is an in-person, event-based role. Opportunities may range from local events in North Carolina to travel assignments at larger events around the country.

Important

Event schedules vary throughout the season, and individual events may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and extended workdays. Associates are able to choose the dates that fit their availability, with schedules coordinated around school and other commitments, as well as geographical location. The role is hands-on and fast-paced, so flexibility and adaptability are important. Students who are interested in working more events can take on additional opportunities throughout the season.

What You'll Experience

• Travel to and assist with onsite event retail sales at national youth sporting events
• Operate temporary retail stores at large-scale soccer and lacrosse events
• Set up, manage, and break down retail spaces
• Assist with inventory management and basic accounting tasks
• Engage directly with customers to drive sales and build brand loyalty
• Support marketing activations and event promotions
• Collect and analyze event sales and consumer data
• Work alongside a team in a fast-paced, physically active environment
• Gain hands-on experience in sports retail, marketing, sales, and event operations

Commitment & Qualifications

• Flexible availability that can work around your school schedule
• Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, and extended event days
• Interest in working local and/or travel events, depending on availability
• Comfortable with physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Strong customer service and sales-oriented mindset
• Outgoing, dependable, and adaptable
• Able to work independently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Current enrollment in or completion of a degree program related to Business, Marketing, Sport Management, Communications, or a related field is preferred
• Preferred: Familiarity with youth club soccer, lacrosse, or the broader sports industry

Location & Travel

• Based in Hillsborough, NC when not traveling
• Event opportunities may include CA, CO, FL, IL, MN, MO, NJ, NC, OH, OK, TN, TX, VA, WA, and other locations
• Associates are not expected to attend every event and can select opportunities based on their schedule and availability
• Local event opportunities are available for students who prefer limited travel
• Travel expenses for approved travel assignments, including flights, lodging, and local transportation, are covered by SPG

Physical Demands

• Frequently stand and walk for extended periods throughout event shifts.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise, boxes, equipment, and event materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout temporary retail and event spaces.
• Regularly communicate with customers, team members, and event personnel.
• Specific vision abilities include close visual acuity to perform activities such as transcribing information, distinguishing colors, and reading.
