Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend required, holiday rotation with core staff

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $71 - $72.80 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver fast-paced, patient-centered care in a 14-bay emergency department seeing up to 140 patients a day
• Assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting with stroke, orthopedic, abdominal pain, and trauma emergencies
• Monitor and interpret cardiac strips and telemetry rhythms independently since there is no designated monitor tech
• Manage ventilator patients and respond quickly to changing acuity levels
• Provide compassionate care to a diverse patient mix that includes roughly 15 percent pediatric cases
• Coordinate with emergency physicians, mid-levels, ER techs, and respiratory therapists to keep care moving
• Stabilize trauma patients and prepare them for rapid transfer to a higher level of care
• Float to the Marian ER when needed to support patient flow across the system

Qualifications

• Active California RN license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Current NIHSS certification
• Current PALS certification
• NRP and TNCC certifications are a plus and highly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
• Comfort reading and interpreting EKG strips independently

Education

• Charting System: Cerner
• Unit Notes: **Medical Solutions Clinical Team will pre-screen all candidates. Managers will do 2nd interview**

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing assessment and triage skills
• Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Ventilator management
• Pediatric emergency care
• Trauma stabilization and rapid transfer preparation
• Experience charting in Cerner
• Ability to thrive with a 1:4 patient ratio in a busy, high-volume ER
