SALARY: $36.00 per hour

FUNCTIONS:

1. Follows all laws, Board Policies, regulations, rules and procedures, and complies with the instructions and/or directives from his/her supervisor(s).
2. Possess knowledge of all motor vehicle laws and regulations and is obedient to them.
3. Observes all mandatory safety regulations pertaining to the safe operation of the vehicle.
4. Checks the vehicle before each operation for mechanical defects, and submits the properly completed form to the Director of Operations or designee.
5. Immediately notifies all appropriate school district personnel in case of mechanical failure.
6. Reports all accidents or injuries and completes all required reports within specified time periods.
7. Exercises responsible leadership at all times, including school trips out of the school district.
8. Keeps the interior of the vehicle clean, including clean windows both inside and out.
9. Works cooperatively with other members of the school staff and administration.
10. Appropriately completes and submits a mileage sheet when required.
11. Performs the work described herein without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others.
12. Performs other duties and related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
2. Has the ability to understand, read, write, and speak English fluently.
3. Possesses a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
4. Possesses the ability to operate the lift and/or other device and/or equipment needed to effectively and efficiently operate the vehicle and perform all necessary functions.
5. Must possess and display the ability to give and follow directives and adhere to the established chain of command.
6. Must possess the ability to make good decisions appropriate to circumstances.
7. Must be dependable, punctual, flexible, appropriately attired, neat in appearance, and able to manage time appropriately.
8. Must maintain a professional demeanor and image.
9. Must be courteous to students, staff, and the general public.
10. Possesses effective communication, judgmental, planning, organizational, problem-solving, and human relations skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have the ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time and the ability to walk as necessary
2. Must have the ability to bend, stoop, or reach above shoulder level.
3. Must be able to access all work areas and locations.
4. Must be able to withstand changes in environmental conditions in the work area and to adapt to these changes.
5. Must be able to travel between school district buildings and other job-related locations as necessary.
6. Must be able to operate and maintain equipment relative to his/her position.
7. This position will include, but not be limited to, such physical activities as climbing; twisting; reaching; grasping; talking; hearing; seeing (visual acuity); heavy lifting; pushing; pulling; and the stamina necessary to load and unload the vehicle.
8. Since work is performed in both the interior and exterior of the truck, the driver must be able to tolerate noise, heat, fumes, vibration, and other issues related to the use of the vehicle and the functions for which it is used.
