BMM has an immediate opening for a full-time experienced litigation paralegal for our NYC office. Do you have recent hands-on experience working for an insurance defense firm and have strong knowledge of paralegal tasks? Are you able to sustain a thorough understanding of all aspects of insurance defense litigation, including experience operating within billable hours and time-tracking environment? Candidates should have a minimum of 8-10 years of insurance defense litigation experience and a bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate. What We Are Looking For and What You Can Bring to BMM Proactively provide support to attorneys with all phases of insurance defense matters, from the case's beginning stages through trial and post-trial. Draft, review, and file pleadings, discovery demands and responses, notices, motions, subpoenas, and other documents in state and federal courts. Manage large volumes of authorizations, videos, radiology films, and records, including medical records, employment records, and Workers' Compensation files. Coordinate and prepare deposition materials, including notices, subpoenas, exhibits, and deposition summaries. Track and manage litigation calendars with the help of eTrack and NYSCEF, including court appearances, discovery deadlines, and legal dockets, to ensure compliance with court rules and scheduling orders. Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, court personnel, and insurance representatives in a professional and timely manner. Bill consistently in accordance with client and carrier guidelines. Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit binders, witness files, trial subpoenas, and courtroom logistics. Provide support to attorneys and team members on additional projects as needed. Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a litigation team to deliver high-quality work.
