Role Description The Accounting Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Olathe, KS. This position is responsible for performing daily accounting tasks such as preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The role includes maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies. The Accounting Specialist will also work with accounting software to process invoices, track expenses, and support reporting needs for management and finance teams. Collaboration with operations and administrative staff to resolve discrepancies and provide financial information is a regular part of the role. Qualifications Strong understanding of finance and financial statements, with the ability to support reporting and analysis. Proficiency with accounting software and related tools used for general ledger, payables, receivables, and reporting. Applied knowledge of journal entries (accounting) and standard accounting procedures in a business environment. Analytical skills to review data, identify variances, and resolve accounting issues accurately and efficiently. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
