Job Category RPS Employee Type Exempt Daily Required Degree Doctorate Manage Others No Contact information Description JOB PURPOSE The Neuropsychologist will provide comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to assess cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and psychological functioning in patients with a variety of neurological, medical, and cognitive conditions. This position is ideal for a fully trained clinician who is comfortable independently conducting evaluations, interpreting complex assessment results, preparing detailed clinical reports, and communicating findings and recommendations to patients, families, and referring providers. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnostic clarification and individualized patient care. This position is a part time position. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for patients with neurological, medical, cognitive, and psychological concerns. Obtain detailed clinical, medical, developmental, educational, occupational, and psychosocial histories as appropriate. Conduct clinical interviews and behavioral observations as part of the assessment process. Select and administer appropriate standardized neuropsychological and psychological assessment measures. Score, analyze, and interpret neuropsychological test results. Integrate test findings with medical records, clinical history, behavioral observations, and other relevant information. Develop appropriate clinical impressions and provide diagnostic clarification within the scope of neuropsychological practice. Prepare clear, accurate, comprehensive, and timely neuropsychological evaluation reports. Provide short-term and long-term treatment plans depending on clinical need. Facilitate psychoeducation related to chronic pain, stress, sleep, emotional regulation, activity pacing, and adherence to treatment plans. Collaborate with medical providers to support interventional procedures through pre-procedure counseling, anxiety reduction, and post-procedure coping strategies. Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, treatment planning, and coordinated care discussions. Communicate findings and recommendations to medical providers, supporting whole-person care. Address behavioral contributors to poor treatment response, including avoidance, fear of movement, or unrealistic expectations. Support patients in setting functional goals aligned with the clinic's interventional and medical treatment pathways. Assess and manage safety concerns, including suicidality, self-harm, and substance use risk, following clinic protocols. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR, consistent with Nevada regulatory and payer standards. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, state licensing requirements, and clinic policies. Provide care consistent with trauma-informed and culturally sensitive standards of practice. Offer education about the mind-body connection, pain cycles, and behavioral strategies to improve quality of life. Help patients develop personalized coping strategies and behavioral action plans. Support patients undergoing major life stressors (grief, adjustment, disability, workplace issues) that may exacerbate pain symptoms. Engage in ongoing communication with physicians, APPs, care coordinators, and administrative staff. Provide consultation to clinical personnel regarding behavioral factors impacting treatment adherence and outcomes. Participate in quality improvement projects, patient-experience initiatives, or specialty pathways when needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, behavioral health providers, Medical Assistants and other specialists, to ensure holistic care. Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical records. Adhere to state and federal regulations regarding controlled substances and opioid prescribing. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing medical education, and clinic development efforts. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this role. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Neuropsychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Specialized education and clinical training in Clinical Neuropsychology. Completion of an appropriate doctoral internship and postdoctoral training in neuropsychology. Active California Psychologist License, or eligibility to obtain California licensure prior to the start date. Demonstrated experience conducting comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations. Strong knowledge of neuropsychological assessment instruments, test administration, scoring, and interpretation. Additional Information Is this requisition for a backfill or a new position?
