Director of Rates & Regulatory Affairs

A well-established Arizona company is seeking an experienced Director of Rates & Regulatory Affairs. This position will lead major rate and regulatory initiatives, oversee filings with the Arizona Corporation Commission, and help guide regulatory strategy in support of the organization’s financial and operational goals. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation, submission, and management of rate cases, regulatory applications, and related filings with the Arizona Corporation Commission Develop ratemaking models, revenue requirement analyses, and cost-recovery strategies Prepare rate surcharges, adjustor mechanisms, tariff updates, and other regulatory filings Monitor compliance with ACC decisions, rules, and directives Oversee tariff management, revenue reporting, sales reporting, and regulatory compliance tracking Improve ratemaking processes, financial models, and regulatory planning activities Prepare financial analyses supporting budgets, strategic planning, acquisitions, and company projects Conduct cost-of-service, feasibility, economic, and cost-benefit studies Analyze customer growth, water usage, industry trends, and regulatory developments Communicate regulatory developments and their potential business impact to company leadershipWork closely with finance, accounting, operations, legal, and executive leadership Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field At least 10 years of experience with a public utility in rates, regulatory affairs, utility accounting, or a closely related function Advanced knowledge of utility ratemaking, revenue requirements, cost recovery, and regulatory proceedings Previous experience working with the Arizona Corporation Commission is strongly preferred Strong background in finance, accounting, economics, and statistical analysis Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills Excellent analytical, written communication, and problem-solving abilities Ability to operate effectively as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor Valid Arizona driver’s license and an acceptable driving record #J-18808-Ljbffr Nesco Resource
