Position Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (CHC), the Clinical Nurse, RN - Nurse Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing processes for the health center. This role provides clinical leadership and oversight of nursing and medical assistant staff while supporting quality patient care and efficient patient flow. The Clinical Nurse, RN - Nurse Manager performs nursing assessments and routine nursing procedures, models adherence to policies and procedures, and promotes a patient-centered approach to care. In partnership with the Health Center Director and Medical Director, the Nurse Manager works to ensure timely patient care and efficient health center operations. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the health center management team to ensure quality patient care. Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing processes that promote quality care and positive patient flow. Assist the Medical Director and Health Center Director with quality improvement initiatives. Provide supervision to RN, LPN, MA, and NA staff at the health center. Assist the Dental Director with supervision of Dental Assistants. Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly nursing staff schedules and assignments. Manage new nurse employee site orientation. Coordinate annual competency assessments and ongoing performance evaluations for nursing staff. Work with the Triage Nurse to ensure appropriate disposition of patients with urgent needs. Manage nursing patient flow to support established time frames and efficient operations. Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff. Provide direct patient care as needed to support the smooth operation of the health center. Coordinate the health center's Vaccine Program. Coordinate laboratory functions at the health center. Oversee daily and weekly clinical log checks. Manage floor-stock medications at the health center. Coordinate annual emergency training in collaboration with Medical and Clinical Leadership. Serve as the on-site nursing liaison for the electronic medical record (EMR). Manage the annual infection control competency assessment. Serve as the nursing liaison to other departments, services, and outside agencies on behalf of the health center. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Current RN license in the District of Columbia or eligibility for DC licensure. Current CPR certification. Minimum of two (2) years of management experience. Three (3) years of recent clinical experience in medical-surgical, emergency care, ICU, or urgent care preferred. Experience working with underserved or other special-needs populations preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment when working with diverse populations. Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
