Job Summary:
The Sorter is responsible for accurately sorting, organizing, and preparing packages or materials for shipment or storage within a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely, accurate order fulfillment and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Sort packages, cartons, or materials by destination, size, route, or product type
- Scan and label items using handheld scanners or warehouse systems
- Inspect items for damage, accuracy, and proper labeling
- Load and unload materials from conveyors, pallets, or carts
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards
- Follow all warehouse procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity goals
- Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to a supervisor promptly
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and safety practices
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
