This position will be responsible for performing boiler inspections and maintenance, as well as working on hydronics systems, cooling towers, and pumps. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented and work well with others. Position requires a high level of correspondence with Project Managers, Service Coordinators and customers.ResponsibilitiesProvide a variety of preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, etc. on boilers, hydronic systems, cooling towers, pumps, and other HVAC equipmentPerforms electrical and mechanical inspection and maintenance on equipment to ensure peak performancePerform specific preventative maintenance including cleaning of equipmentUses experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirementsAbility to interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location and operation of the system(s)Represents the company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors and ownersAdvises owner/representative of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be takenSuggest additional services that are beneficial to customerWorks in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfactionSubmits required paperwork to Service Coordinator dailyMust work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all timesPerforms other duties as assignedFlexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as requiredRelocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates relocating from outside the local marketThe Required ProfileHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust have valid driver's license with good driving recordMust have current Boiler certification and OSHA 10 Training, plus 1-5 years' experience working as a Service Technician in a commercial environmentOperating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)Electrical knowledge required and EPA Certification (i.e. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.), plus 2-3 years boiler maintenance and repair experience preferredAbility to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights, etc.Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 poundsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and balance requirements of multiple and varied dutiesOther Skills & AbilitiesLanguage Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.Environmental RequirementsWill be required to work in a field environment, multiple customer sites on a daily basis.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
