HR Shared Services Intern

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for a HR Shared Services Intern for the summer for our Columbus, Ohio location. Responsibilities Assists the HR Shared Services team in responding to general HR inquiries via phone and email, under supervision Supports data entry, transaction processing, and documentation within the company’s Human Capital Management (HCM) system Helps maintain accurate and organized HR records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company standards Assists with preparing basic HR reports, tracking metrics, and compiling data to support team dashboards and service level measurements Supports HR projects and process improvement initiatives, including documenting processes and identifying opportunities for efficiency Participates in training, shadowing, and knowledge building activities to learn HR Shared Services functions and best practices Provides administrative support to the HR Shared Services team as needed Completes other duties as assigned that are consistent with the role and learning objectives Qualifications Actively pursuing a degree in HR or other related business field Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Understanding of AI tools, machine learning principles, and automation workflows relevant to the role. The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information The ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions Additional Information This is a Monday-Friday role. The hours are 8am-5pm. Summer only. **This role is onsite.
