Senior Scala Data Engineer

Salary: $114,400 - 124,800 per year Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Scala and hands-on experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem components
• Strong SQL skills, including database optimization
• Experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures
• Expertise in Apache Kafka for streaming and messaging
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
• Experience with Agile methodologies and version control tools such as Git
• Preferred: Experience with Spark Streaming, Structured Streaming, or similar technologies
• Preferred: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, data lakes, and modern analytics architectures

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and data-processing pipelines using Scala and Apache Spark
• Build and optimize big data solutions with Hadoop ecosystem technologies
• Develop and maintain batch and real-time data-processing frameworks
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using Kafka
• Write complex SQL queries and optimize data models for performance and scalability
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on AWS
• Collaborate with architects, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions
• Troubleshoot production issues and support system reliability and performance
• Participate in code reviews and help establish technical standards and best practices
