Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher serving as the SPED Director in a close-knit, supportive school environment. Step into a leadership position where you'll manage a caseload of 10-18 K-12 students, while also taking on the responsibility of overseeing all special education (SPED) programming and compliance for the school. This long-term contract role, beginning immediately and continuing through June 18, 2027, offers growth and stability. Hours start at 35 per week and will increase to 40 hours weekly after Labor Day.
In this role, you'll foster an inclusive learning atmosphere, collaborate with faculty and families, and support students' diverse educational needs. Your expertise will help guide individualized education programs (IEPs), drive student success, and support instructional staff with guidance and mentorship.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification
- Proven experience in K-12 special education
- Strong caseload management skills
- Previous leadership or SPED program oversight experience is a plus
- Exceptional communication and organizational talents
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage families
- Commitment to maintaining compliance and documentation standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 10-18 students, developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
- Serve as the SPED Director, overseeing all special education programming
- Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations
- Offer staff training, coaching, and support on best SPED practices
- Communicate effectively with family members, administrators, and community partners
- Foster a safe, supportive, and accessible classroom for all learners
