Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Clinical & Policy Data Analyst position (K0235353) Gathers, analyzes and interprets data using appropriate statistical techniques and computer software to obtain and manipulate data. Information is used in the monitoring, design and implementation of changes to group benefits plans by analyzing the effectiveness of existing programs. Maintain data in formats that are easily accessible for on-line inquiry and reporting. Creates and maintains documentation for each report. Data may be gathered from the agency's own system, from other states, or other national sources.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Performs ad hoc analysis and interprets results for DHCF staff and stakeholders.
• Creates and maintains documentation for each report.
• Responds to written and verbal inquiries from DHCF staff and other states or national bodies engaged in survey and research work regarding Medicaid data.

Qualifications

• Education :
  • High School, GED
• Licensing & Certification:
  • Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
• Minimum Qualifications:
  • Three years of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative or administrative data. Bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, economics or other similar degrees may be substituted as determined relevant by the agency.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
  • Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
  • Able to communicate information effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others while working independently
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in health care or insurance
  • One year of experience performing analysis of procedures, policies or programs
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and data in clean, concise ways and communicate information
