Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive cardiopulmonary services in accordance with established protocols and departmental policies. This role includes delivering timely diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients, assisting physicians with procedures, and ensuring effective patient care through the management of respiratory therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with both invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Deliver medicated aerosols using medical compressed gas.
• Maintain patient airways and manage ventilators.
• Perform the insertion of arterial lines and assist with intubations.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies and cardiac/pulmonary stress tests.
• Obtain and analyze blood gas samples.

Qualifications:

• Must hold certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Must possess an active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Florida.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of one year of clinical experience.
• Experience in travel assignments preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
