Cleanroom Production OperatorAs a Cleanroom Production Operator, you work in the cartridge department within an ISO Class 8 cleanroom, assembling cartridges and supporting a semi-automated manufacturing line. You collaborate closely with your team to complete mechanical and medical device assemblies, perform inspections, run automated equipment, and ensure all batch records and documentation are accurate. You follow standard operating procedures, maintain a clean and safe work area, and stay flexible as workload and department needs shift.ResponsibilitiesAssemble cartridges and related components on a high-volume manufacturing line.Work collaboratively with a team to complete mechanical and medical device assemblies to defined quality standards.Monitor and operate semi-automated manufacturing processes across multiple lines, including inspections, automated machines, sub-assembly and welding, and testing.Perform visual and functional inspections of products to ensure they meet specifications and quality requirements.Run and oversee automated equipment, promptly addressing basic issues or escalating when necessary.Support sub-assembly and welding tasks as needed to maintain production flow.Conduct testing activities in accordance with established procedures and document results accurately.Review batch records and production documentation for completeness and accuracy, correcting or reporting discrepancies.Follow all work instructions, SOPs, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines at all times.Use computer systems for training, documentation, and production-related data entry.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the ISO Class 8 cleanroom.Adhere strictly to cleanroom protocols, including PPE requirements, hygiene standards, and contamination control practices.Demonstrate consistent attendance and reliability, arriving on time for all scheduled shifts.Remain flexible with assignments, moving between stations, lines, and departments as workload demands change, including potential work at nearby facilities.Be open to cross-training in different departments and tasks to support changing production needs.Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting productivity targets while maintaining quality.Support overtime requirements as needed, including extended shifts and additional hours during peak demand.Contribute positively to a respectful, team-oriented culture, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues.Essential SkillsAbility to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) from any industry.Experience or strong capability working in fast-paced production or manufacturing environments.Comfort using computers for training, documentation, and production-related tasks.Strong attention to detail, particularly in inspections, documentation, and assembly work.Reliable attendance and punctuality, with a commitment to showing up on time every day.Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively on a manufacturing line.Willingness to be flexible and do what is needed to get the job done, without being above any task.Ability to be cross-trained and work in different departments, stations, and buildings as required.Capability to follow GMP and cleanroom practices, including strict adherence to hygiene and contamination control.Trainable attitude, with openness to learning new processes, equipment, and procedures.Good work ethic, including responsibility, consistency, and respect for safety and quality standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable.Experience in mechanical assembly or medical device assembly is a plus.Experience with inspection, packaging, or production in a regulated environment is beneficial.Familiarity with GMP standards and medical manufacturing processes is advantageous.Comfort working with semi-automated machinery and production equipment.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support different teams or departments as needed.Why Work Here?You join a large, well-established organization where your immediate team operates with a close-knit, family-oriented culture. The environment is dynamic and requires flexibility; if work slows in one department, you may be reassigned to another department or a nearby building, such as a packaging team located approximately 2.5 miles away. The role involves standing, working on a manufacturing line, and using computers for training and documentation. Cleanroom protocols are strictly enforced: you wear required PPE including hair cover, lab coat or gown, and gloves; you follow hand washing and glove-use procedures; and you avoid fragrances, makeup, lipstick, fake or acrylic nails. Pants are required (no leggings or shorts), necklaces must be tucked into your shirt, and glasses must have side shields. Shifts follow an AWS schedule, with openings on a first shift from 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday to Thursday, and a second shift from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM Monday to Thursday. Overtime may be needed, and additional hours are compensated according to daily and weekly thresholds. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and teamwork while maintaining a busy production schedule over the next 15 months.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
