Leasing Consultant

Job Title: Leasing Consultant Salary: $23 per hour Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday | 9:00 am–6:00 pm Benefits Physical wellness: Medical, dental, vision, and mental health coverage options. Responsibilities Coordinate all activities related to apartment rentals, move‑ins, move‑outs, and lease renewals. Interact directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy and ensure resident retention and client satisfaction. Focus on the needs of others by listening, understanding, and showing empathy and respect. Generate and handle traffic, qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move‑in paperwork and processes. Ensure model apartments are in touring condition. Orient prospective and current residents to the property; process renewal paperwork and deliver documentation to current residents on a monthly basis. Maintain accurate and detailed records of traffic activity; enter applicable information into the computer system. Follow up with all prospective residents via phone, mail or email; convert phone traffic into scheduled appointments for tours. Inspect apartments prior to resident move‑ins and ensure move‑in condition by coordinating with maintenance team. Create and maintain confidential resident files, reviewing move‑in paperwork with new residents. Complete weekly leasing reports accurately and timely. Ensure all open and close procedures are completed daily. Assist with ongoing resident relations throughout tenancy, responding to requests promptly and accurately. Responsible for shopping competitive properties. Inspect buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness; alert maintenance to repairs needed. Assist with processing work order requests for residents and ensure timely completion. Support management by providing clerical support (answering phone calls, filing, processing property invoices) as needed. Assist with planning and implementing resident activities to increase resident retention. Comply with all company policies, health and safety rules, and applicable local, state, and federal laws. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma required. Minimum of one year of previous sales experience preferred. One year of previous residential leasing experience preferred. Skills and Requirements Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others. Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or another comparable system preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management. Sensitivity to confidential matters required. Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment with a strong sense of urgency. Ability to relay technical concerns with adequate detail, quickly and accurately. Capability to read, write, comprehend, and converse in English. Ability to use general office equipment (telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, key‑track system). Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to defuse situations involving angry or difficult people. Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and current auto insurance. Must comply with all safety requirements.
