Linux Server Administrator

Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of our Linux server infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Develop and implement best practices for system administration, security, and configuration management.

Mentor and guide level 1 and level 2 administrators, providing technical support and advancing their professional growth.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and modern technology implementations.

Lead efforts to automate routine tasks and streamline system operations using scripting and configuration management tools.

Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimizing downtime.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with security standards.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Linux administration.

Handle escalations, work closely with customers, and provide RCA for issues within SLA.

Review performance of the team and share details with customers.

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.

Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Linux Administrator at Level 2 or Level 3.

Extensive experience in managing and optimizing Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat).

Proficiency in virtualization, and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).

Excellent scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) and experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

Deep understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and security principles.

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior team members effectively.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.

Prior experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure) is a plus.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Relevant certifications such as RHCE and LPIC are a plus.
