RN - PACU

Registered Nurse In Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

This position is for four 10-hour shifts per week. Weekend shifts may be required to support unit needs. There is potential for call, not to exceed one weeknight per week and one weekend per month. The role involves caring for patients post-anesthesia with varying levels of acuity. Patient populations include infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The facility provides post-anesthesia care for surgeries across various specialties, including orthopedic, cardiovascular, general surgery, and neurosurgery. Staff typically manage two patients per nurse for optimal care. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, blood product administration, and various anesthesia care protocols. Experience with ventilated patients and pain management via PCA pumps is essential. Candidates should have strong assessment skills and be able to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
