Job Summary:
As aDirect Support Professional (DSP),you will provide hands-on care and assistance to individuals in their daily lives. Your role will include helping them develop independent living skills, ensuring community inclusion, and supporting their overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care services tailored to the individuals needs.
- Assist withActivities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals inmeal preparationand ensure dietary needs are met.
- Promoteindependent living skillssuch as budgeting, grocery shopping, and household chores.
- Encourage and facilitatecommunity inclusion, social skills, and recreational activities.
- Implementindividualized goals and support plansin a person-centered environment.
- Ensure thehealth and safetyof all individuals under your care.
- Identify, document, and report anyincidents, allegations of abuse, or concernsas required.
- Administermedications accurately(upon successful completion of an approved AMAP course).
- Communicate effectively withstaff, management, and familiesto ensure coordinated care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of experiencein caregiving, healthcare, or disability supportpreferred(college credits may be substituted for experience).
- Must be reliable, patient, and compassionate.
- Ability to follow care plans and safety procedures.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to pass background checks and required certifications.
