Bookkeeper - Sacramento, CA Compensation: $25 - $30 per hour Nexus HR is looking for a Bookkeeper with strong payroll experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks, a strong grasp of bookkeeping principles, excellent organizational and customer service skills, and a strong understanding of 941 and 940 tax filing. About the Job This role is on-site, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, full-time with benefits. In this role, you will work closely with the payroll and accounting team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax preparation both for employees and for companies. You will also play a vital part in supporting the financial and administrative operations of the company. Duties and Responsibilities: Work with the payroll team to coordinate employee and employer taxes Work with the payroll team and the accounting team to resolve tax-related concerns. Process 941 tax filing Process 940 tax filing Perform accurate and timely data entry of financial transactions. Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, vendor payments, and collection calls Communicate with State and Federal agencies for payroll tax account registration Monitor and manage incoming emails to ensure timely responses and follow-ups. Ensure timely and professional communication with clients, vendors, and internal staff. Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Collaborate with the team to improve processes and maintain compliance with financial Qualifications Some college or a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Fresh graduate or 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience. Experience in payroll is required Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other Microsoft and Google suites. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
