Finn & Fire is seeking sharp, organized Food Runners to join our opening dining room team. This role is for someone who moves with urgency, communicates clearly, stays composed under pressure, and understands the importance of accuracy, timing, and presentation in a high-standard restaurant environment.

Our menu brings together pristine seafood, sushi technique, live-fire cooking, premium meats, bold Peruvian flavors, and the polished energy of a modern steakhouse. Food Runners at Finn & Fire will be a critical link between the kitchen and the dining room, helping ensure every dish lands with precision, confidence, and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver food from the kitchen to the dining room according to Finn & Fire standards.
• Ensure dishes are delivered accurately, cleanly, and with proper timing, placement, and presentation.
• Learn menu details, including dish names, ingredients, preparations, allergens, dietary accommodations, and correct table placement.
• Communicate confidently and clearly when presenting dishes to guests.
• Work closely with chefs, expeditors, servers, back servers, bartenders, hosts, and managers to maintain smooth service flow.
• Support a menu rooted in Peruvian Nikkei cuisine, seafood, sushi, live-fire cooking, premium meats, and polished steakhouse-style execution.
• Maintain awareness of table numbers, seat numbers, course progression, special requests, allergies, and guest preferences.
• Assist with marking tables, clearing plates, resetting, restocking, polishing, and supporting service when needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and service-ready runner stations and expo areas.
• Assist the culinary team by keeping the pass organized, clean, and focused during service.
• Move quickly and calmly during high-volume service while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
• Uphold food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and hospitality standards.
• Contribute to a disciplined, respectful, focused, and professional opening-team culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Food Runner, Back Server, Busser, Server Assistant, Expo Assistant, or similar role in a serious restaurant environment preferred.
• Strong sense of urgency, accuracy, organization, and communication.
• Ability to learn menu details and describe dishes clearly and confidently.
• Strong attention to detail, timing, table numbers, seat positions, and presentation.
• Ability to work cleanly, quickly, and consistently under pressure.
• Professional appearance, punctuality, humility, and team-first mentality.
• Comfortable taking direction, receiving coaching, and refining service technique.
• Interest in Peruvian, Japanese, Nikkei, seafood, sushi, steakhouse, or high-standard restaurant environments preferred.
• Curious intelligence, coachability, and genuine interest in hospitality are required.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate plus tips, based on experience.

Schedule

Full-time and part-time positions available. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.

About Finn & Fire

Finn & Fire is a new Peruvian Nikkei restaurant in Alexandria with a strong seafood focus, live-fire influence, premium meats, and a polished steakhouse sensibility. The restaurant is being built with high standards, sharp execution, and a clear culinary point of view.

As part of the opening team, this role will help define the restaurant's service pace, communication, accuracy, presentation, professionalism, and identity from day one.
