Infrastructure Project Manager (VMware to Nutanix Migration)

Houston, TX (Hybrid) | 11-Month Contract | 3 Days Onsite

Are you an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager who thrives on leading complex technology initiatives? We're partnering with a leading enterprise organization seeking a Project Manager to oversee a large-scale migration of approximately 95 virtual machines from VMware vCenter to Nutanix .

This is a highly visible role where you'll work closely with infrastructure engineers, business leaders, and technology stakeholders to deliver a critical modernization initiative. • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale VMware to Nutanix migration.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, risks, and dependencies.
• Coordinate activities across infrastructure, networking, systems engineering, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
• Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and executive communications.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring timely issue resolution.
• Drive accountability across technical teams to keep the project on schedule.
• Manage project documentation, change control, and governance throughout the engagement.
• Minimize business disruption while ensuring a smooth and successful migration.
• Implement consistent PMI-based project management practices and reporting.

• 5+ years of Project Management experience leading enterprise infrastructure initiatives.
• Experience managing virtualization, infrastructure, or data center migration projects.
• Strong understanding of VMware, Nutanix, enterprise infrastructure, networking, and virtualization technologies.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional technical teams.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar.

• PMP Certification strongly preferred.
• Experience implementing PMI project management standards and governance.
• Background leading enterprise infrastructure modernization or transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing highly visible, business-critical technology projects.
