Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Neuro Stepdown & EMU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Yes, willing to wait Certifications: BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong Neuro experience Description: The role involves working in a high-acuity neuroscience environment. Nurses will care for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, and post-operative craniotomies. Experience with external ventricular drains (EVDs) is preferred. Candidates must possess NIHSS certification at the time of submission. Nursing ratios in the unit are 1:3 for stepdown patients. Charge nurses will be available 24/7. Nurses will collaborate with respiratory therapy for patient care. Telemetry monitoring is available on the unit, and RNs are not required to read strips. Travelers are expected to work weekends and holidays as scheduled. Flexibility in scheduling is a must, including the possibility of floating to other units. Scrub color is royal blue. COVID-19 vaccination is required, with accommodations available for medical or religious reasons.
