Chicago Chop House is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hospitality-driven Floor Manager to join our team. We are looking for a natural leader who understands the art of fine dining, takes pride in exceptional service, and knows how to bring out the best in a team.

What You'll Do

Lead Exceptional Service

• Oversee nightly dining room operations to ensure seamless, polished, and attentive service.
• Maintain a visible leadership presence on the floor, anticipating guest needs and resolving concerns with professionalism and discretion.
• Uphold Chicago Chop House's standards for hospitality, presentation, timing, and attention to detail.
• Build relationships with returning guests and help create an atmosphere that encourages repeat business and positive word of mouth.

Manage and Develop the Team

• Lead, motivate, and support servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, and support staff.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate reservations, VIP guests, specials, service priorities, and nightly goals.
• Provide ongoing coaching, constructive feedback, and hands-on training.
• Establish clear expectations for professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and performance.
• Ensure the team remains productive during slower periods through side work, preparation, training, and attention to the details that make service exceptional.

Drive Restaurant Performance

• Monitor the flow of service, table pacing, reservations, seating, and coordination between the dining room, bar, and kitchen.
• Support sales growth through thoughtful guest engagement, menu knowledge, wine and beverage recommendations, and effective service execution.
• Monitor labor, staffing levels, and floor coverage to maintain efficient operations without compromising the guest experience.
• Assist with liquor ordering, inventory management, and operational controls as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve service, productivity, profitability, and overall restaurant performance.

Protect Our Standards

• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, liquor, and employment regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dining room and service environment.
• Handle guest feedback and service recovery promptly, using sound judgment and a hospitality-first approach.
• Work closely with restaurant leadership to implement procedures, reinforce standards, and continuously improve operations.

What We're Looking For

• At least 2 years of restaurant management or supervisory experience, preferably in fine dining, an upscale steakhouse, or a high-volume full-service restaurant.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to command the floor while remaining approachable, professional, and team-oriented.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and a clear understanding of elevated dining service.
• Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and remain composed during busy dinner services.
• Strong knowledge of food, wine, spirits, menu presentation, and guest service standards.
• Experience with reservations, table management, staffing, inventory, and restaurant operating procedures.
• Familiarity with OpenTable, POS systems, inventory platforms, and standard office software.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as restaurant operations require.
• A hands-on mindset, strong work ethic, and a commitment to leading by example.

Position Details

• Position: Floor Manager, Friday through Tuesday (Days off are Wednesday/Thursday)
• Location: 60 W. Ontario St. (River North) 
• Employment: Full-time
• Schedule: Evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Work Setting: On-site, upscale fine-dining steakhouse.
