Production Supervisor

Production SupervisorTrillium Staffing is now seeking a Production Supervisor for a direct-hire, night shift position in Wheeling, IL!Schedule is 5:30 PM to 5:00 AM (Monday – Thursday). Annual salary is $90,000 – $101,000+ (Based on experience).The Production Supervisor directs manufacturing team members to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality targets are met. This role involves active coaching, real-time problem-solving, and managing the progression of production across the facility. The Production Supervisor is required to be onsite to support business operations.Key Responsibilities:Oversee shift production processes to optimize efficiency, quality, delivery, WIP (work in process), and labor metrics.Coordinate daily with cross-functional leadership, including Production, Scheduling, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Control, and Tooling/Materials teams.Support and drive Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives across production areas.Monitor equipment, staffing, and targets to maintain high quality and minimize operational downtime.Evaluate daily metrics, address process complexities directly, and escalate critical issues to upper management or HR as needed.Ensure strict adherence to company safety, compliance, and operational policies.Coach, mentor, and train employees, managing performance evaluations and goal setting.Manage shift schedules and adapt staffing to meet fluctuating operational demands.Resolve low-level workplace conflicts and foster professional team communication.Maintain flexibility for weekend work or coverage on alternate shifts as required.Requirements:Experience: 5–10 years in a high-precision manufacturing environment (Medical Device, Aerospace/Defense, Automotive, or Precision Instrument Manufacturing preferred).Technical Background: Previous exposure to Swiss machining, CNC machining, and/or complex assembly is a plus.Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs (Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Delivery); proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.Leadership: Proven ability to coach teams, handle complex problem-solving, and manage multi-faceted production workflows.Flexibility: Must be willing to cover other shifts if coverage is needed.Trillium Staffing has been recruiting and hiring CNC talent for over 30 years.
