Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Newburgh, Indiana. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Neuro Surgical Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Nights located in Newburgh, Indiana. This position involves providing care for neuro and neuro-surgical patients on a specialized medical surgical floor. The role requires delivering high-quality patient assessments and interventions within a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Job Details: Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, starting on 08/24/2026, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and two years of strong neuro nursing experience, including at least one travel assignment and trauma level II experience. Recent Electronic Prescribing of Interdisciplinary Content (EPIC) charting experience required (will be required to complete a checkoff class). Preferred Qualifications: Ability to perform NIHSS/dysphagia screens, strong neuro assessments, basic telephonic interpretation, and proficient in insertion/titration of heparin gtts., blood and blood product administration, venipuncture, blood cultures, NG tubes, and indwelling drain management. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills preferred. Float: First to float within skillset. Cross-campus float to other facilities may occur with appropriate notice. On Call/Call Back Requirement: Not applicable. Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday. Additional Information: The unit comprises 37 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 during day shifts and 1:5-7 at night. CT staff are experienced and welcoming to travelers. The unit may require precepting of students and new hires. Navy blue scrubs with no competing logos are required. Education: Associate degree or certificate required. Start Date: 08/24/2026.
